Gideon Tree Works is a family-owned tree and excavation company based in Jonesboro, Arkansas — the largest city in the northeast corner of the state and the hub of Craighead County. Jonesboro sits on the eastern edge of Crowley's Ridge, where the ridge's oak and hickory uplands meet the flat Delta farmland that runs east to the Mississippi River. That mix is why our work looks the way it does: shallow-rooted ridge hardwoods that come over in straight-line wind, and saturated Delta ground where big trees lean long before they fail.

From the Jonesboro yard we cover Craighead, Greene, Poinsett, Lawrence, Mississippi, Independence, Jackson, Cross, Randolph, and White counties as our everyday service area — Paragould, Trumann, Brookland, Bono, Walnut Ridge, Blytheville, Batesville, Newport, Wynne, Pocahontas, and Searcy all get same-day emergency dispatch. Those are our core service areas.

Because we own our tree-extraction crane, excavators, and haul equipment instead of renting them, we can justify longer drives for the jobs that genuinely need them. A 90-foot water oak leaning over a Memphis roof, a hillside removal above a Poplar Bluff driveway, or a stand of construction-survivor pines beside a new house in Cabot are all crane jobs first and travel jobs second. That is the work that brings us into the regions below.

Emergencies in these extended areas are always worth a call — we answer around the clock and will tell you honestly whether we can beat a local crew to you. For anything routine or small outside Northeast Arkansas, we will usually tell you to hire locally, and mean it.
